Ranging from being afraid of the Slenderman killing me at night, to believing that I owned a possessed classic video game. "Oh well then, but that screen is STILL really freaky!!" I have to say, summer of 2012 had some of the most scariest periods of my life. Apparently, his nickname was "Majin", which isn't a reference to anything demonic at all. Aurora a 15 year old girl found a beautiful pink music box in front of her door with 6. Because if my disc was really possessed, wouldn't that make me really famous? Also, after digging deeper, I discovered that it didn't really say it was signed by the Devil, but rather by one of the developers of the game. After I discovered this, I was both relieved and disappointed that my disc wasn't possessed by the Devil. Is my copy of Sonic CD possessed by the Devil himself? Are all those lame creepypasta stories true after all?!" I was planning on posting this on 4Chan, and writing it on the creepypasta wiki, but I decided to dig a bit deeper and discovered that my copy of Sonic CD wasn't demonically possessed, and that this message was in fact hidden inside of EVERY copy of Sonic CD by the game's developers. I looked up the translation for it and the message's translation reads:Īnd I thought to myself: "Oh my god. I then turned off my Genesis as fast as I could, and I was breathing pretty hard. Whenever I discovered it I was REALLY freaked out. Like I said, I discovered this by complete accident. It showed me a bunch of Sonics with frightening faces, and played music that's is some of the scariest I've ever heard. You get to it by inputing FM 46, PCM 12, and DA 25 on the sound test screen and then hit start. However, there was one easter egg that I discovered by complete accident. Or this one which is a weird combo of Batman and Sonic (Kinda funny, actually!) And a debug mode! No hacking required! And apparently, if you put in certain numbers and press start on the sound test, you'll get some hidden images. And when I played it, it was awesome! I also discovered that there's a "sound test" mode if you put in a code with your controller. This filled me with such an existential dread that I didn't turn my Sega CD back on for like a month. You remember Sonic CD for the Sega CD? It was a great game, and it still is to this day! However, I didn't really get to play it until 2012. In the japanese version of the game, this isn't nearly as scary, as the boss music is more lively and upbeat (and without the distorted children laughing), and, being able to read Japanese, you'd know that the message is to the effect of "Enjoy forever, Sega Enterprises!" But back on that day, I felt my blood run cold. It's the combination of the twisted US soundtrack's boss music and the bizarre human faces on the sonics in the back, plus the strange message in another language I couldn't read at the time. That's when I put those numbers in and saw the above message. My brother was asleep in the front room watching television while I was flicking through the guide in my bedroom on the other side of the house. But at the end of the Sonic CD section, with no screenshot or really any indication of what was to come, they printed "try these numbers out in the sound test for a neat hidden message!"īy happenstance, the day I bought that guide, my parents and sister were out of town, and it was a dark, overcast, and rainy day. The guide's Sonic CD portion was terrible, no maps, no real strategies, more like just a collection of screenshots. The message is presumably intended to be shown to those who pirated the game, but it can be accessed manually via inputting the code FM46, PCM12, DA25 into the sound test. It wound up that they meant Sonic 3 game genie codes instead, but that was emblematic of how poorly written the guide was. Fun is Infinite is a stage based on the creepy secret message from the Sega CD game, Sonic CD. I bought the strategy guide at a Blockbuster video because, in a printing error, the guide said "Sonic CD game genie codes" on the back and I wanted to see how a Sega CD game could have game genie codes (back in those days, strategy guides used to be sealed so you couldn't read them in the game shops). I found it printed in the Sonic CD/Sonic 3 official strategy guide when I was younger.
